Four wheel airplane. First monoplane that was constructed with tubes. Was built and flown by Romanian born Trajan Vula from 1903-1906. The engine was a steam engine,
driven by liquid carbon dioxyde. It developed 20 HP for 3 minutes on a 13 liter tank. The wheels had inflatable rubber tires, a first. Tthey were steerable, interlinked with
the pilot's steering wheel. On March 18th, 1906, Vula took off and flew 12 meters at a height of one meter. Later on, the engine was a 24 HP Antoinette-Levasseur.
In the end Vula had to give up his work due to lack of money.
